GARDEN SUBURB SCHOOL

Client
Kier Regional Ltd

Contract value
£450,000

Description of works
This project was to create a new dining hall and fist floor classrooms for this school in a conservation area. The planning restrictions required the architect to design a building that would fit seamlessly with the surrounding structures but internally be a modern and adaptable space.

The rear of the building was a single storey rendered building with a single ply membrane roof and large roof lights. Internally, it had a large moveable wall so that the dining hall could be divided when required.

The building also had a lift and two staircases.

The front of the building had dormer windows and the roof was was tiled to match the local architecture.
